Where it all began, although I didn’t know it at the time

Zagreb, Croatia

(Transcript from Video, censored and edited a bit to remove all of the F-bombs I dropped because I was SO MOVED I couldn’t stop cursing)

I’m having pretty much the nerdiest moment I've had in recent memory.

I’m at the Nicola Tesla Machine Museum in Zagreb, Croatia.

The space is beautiful, old wood.

They have all of these machines from, I don't even know when. I am in the fire section.

Well, I was in the fire section. Now I'm in the water tunnel section.

Not only does this beautiful museum cost €4 to get in, but these machines that are from, at the moment, from the 1900s, are so pristinely preserved.. they're beautiful.

They're just BEAUTIFUL.  To think that somebody designed this ***shit in the 1900s or whatever, and for it to be so beautiful, such incredible detail.

I mean, the schematics…this is from, I don’t know the time, the 1800s, no, sorry, the 1600s this schematic.

The idea that the people with such limited technology just figured the *** out, man.

To be, like, face to face with this ancient machine that looks this good, that people without any computers, any calculators, ANYTHING just designed is..  it's like walking amongst gods being here. Just LOOK at that *** wood…

You know I'm happy with the career choice I've made but nobody, nobody, NOBODY told me to be an engineer.

Nobody pushed me. I was so good at math, SO good at math.

And nobody said, “Cindy, ever think about becoming an engineer?”

I have no regrets in my life, but… my HEART, it's like… I'm in LOVE.

It’s like, I swear, when artists go to museums.

I think this is what they feel in their heart. Like, I look at this and I feel, like I'm in LOVE with this.  I didn't waste my life but JFC…. LOOK at this thing.

Look at this *** thing.

Mere mortals. Mere mortals. A *** Wine Press from 1871. Look at the beauty of this carving and the the ropes.

And I it's enormous. This is the size of it. (I stand nex to it) This is the relative size of it.

Men created this. Women created it too. They just had to do it in silence.

The fact that people were able to do this is astounding.

It really is just like walking among gods here.

I've never been to a place, a museum I've enjoyed more.
